Our Story
From the First Home Fire to Smarter Residential Risk

How a modern risk platform became the next step in the long evolution of residential insurance.

The story of residential insurance is a story of people trying to protect what matters most. Every improvement, every tool, every new approach has been driven by the same question: how do we  understand risk better?
CHRP is the latest answer, and it is part of a very long conversation.

Fire Changes Everything

The Great Fire of London destroys 13,000 homes in four days.
Collective protection from catastrophic loss becomes a necessity.

Coverage Expands

Protection grows beyond fire to weather, liability, and structural
risk. But risk identification tools stay largely reactive.

Today
Where CHRP Began:
Construction Meets Insurance

CHRP was founded to close a long-standing gap between how homes are actually built and how residential risk is traditionally assessed.

One of CHRP’s founders brings over 20 years of hands-on residential construction experience. That perspective revealed a clear problem: underwriting and risk teams were being asked to make critical decisions without enough real-world visibility into how homes age, change, and fail over time.

CHRP was created to bring that construction context into insurance workflows. Not to replace people, but to support better assessment, clearer recommendations, and more consistent follow-through.
